Alison grew up in the North East of England and began her career in fashion when she was hired by Anna Wintour as Art Coordinator of British Vogue. She moved into the fashion department under the editorship of Elizabeth Tilberis and rapidly went from assisting to being Mens Fashion Editor. When Liz Tilberis moved to US Harper's Bazaar, Alison followed her to the States where she was appointed West Coast Editor of Bazaar US and stayed for five years. Upon her return to London in 1997, she was appointed Fashion Director of Harper's & Queen. When editor Lucy Yeomans joined the magazine in 2000, Alison was promoted to Creative & Fashion Director. The magazine returned to it's former title of Harper's Bazaar in 2006 and Alison styled and art directed almost one hundred covers for the magazine and numerous fashion stories during her twelve year tenure, along with overseeing all fashion content.
She left Bazaar to move back to Los Angeles in 2009 where she retains her Marie Claire and C Magazine contracts. Alison is married to legendary model John Pearson, and they have three children.
